A team consists of 2 to 4 players. With 3 or 4 players, you can play all the cells; teams of 2 can complete about 80% of the cells. Multiple teams compete against each other simultaneously on the central scoreboard.

Participants must be at least 9 years old to take part in Prison Island. For participants under 16, at least one adult must play on each team.
